Good morning Sweet Town! This week we our 52Cakes is styled for Christmas. It is a vanilla cake with a raspberry puree and Chambord buttercream. Iced in Red and Green, perfect for your holiday table. The cake is a 9-inch and will serve 15-20. As we embrace the spirit of giving this holiday season, let's come together to make a positive impact on the lives of our furry friends in need. This week, our 52Cakes initiative is taking a simple yet heartfelt approach to support a cause that is close to our hearts. We have numerous causes lined up for the upcoming year, and we want to dedicate our focus to each one. To finish this year in giving spirit, we've decided to extend our love and care to the dogs and cats in our local shelters and animal hospitals. As families gather during the holidays, let's spread warmth and comfort to those animals that might need medical attention or are waiting to be adopted. A towel acting as a blanket might give them comfort. We are initiating a fundraiser to purchase new towels for our beloved pets in shelters and animal hospitals as needed. Additionally, we are calling for the donation of gently used towels from our community, which will provide comfort to dogs and cats in need of medical attention over the next few weeks. These towels play a crucial role as blankets and sources of comfort for our pets, especially those awaiting adoption. By contributing to this cause, we are not only providing physical warmth but also showing our support for the well-being of these animals. How can you get involved? This week’s 52cakes auction and donations of towels should you want to make one. We will collect them in the bakery. Let's make this holiday season memorable not only for ourselves but also for the pets awaiting love and care. Your generosity will make a significant difference in the lives of these animals. A note from Miss Dallas Scholarship Foundation: We are overjoyed to be part of a community that thrives on helping one another, where lending a hand is a way of life. We receive numerous requests each week to contribute to various causes, and while we’d love to assist every time, it’s not always possible. That’s why we’ve embarked on our very own fundraising initiative: ’52 Cakes.’
Each week, we’ll craft a unique and delightful cake, focusing on either its style or flavor, or both. Then, we’ll auction off that delectable creation. Our commitment is to donate one cake per week, supporting 52 different non-profit organizations, initiatives, and projects right here in Haywood County. Every cent raised will be directed to the cause of the week, and the following week, we’ll select another deserving cause to support.
We want to express our heartfelt appreciation to the platform that manages the bids and collects the funds on our behalf. All the winning bidder needs to do is pick up the cake on Friday morning and savor every bite, knowing they’ve made a difference.
The cakes will be finished and posted in social media and here on our website every Thursday morning. You have until 5:00 PM to bid on the cake. The winning bidder will be notified and all they need to do is pickup the cake Friday! We will list each week’s donation and the cake that earned it here every week. If you want to be included as a recipient, please send us your name, organization, contact information, a little about you and how the money will be used.
